Fun Activities for Families in Bali.
So your Bali tickets are booked, you’ve chosen the perfect villa and everyone at home is excited to fly here. But suddenly you stop and you realize, you have no idea what activities you could do that will suit the whole family!
And while there’s plenty of ideas out there, a time strapped vacation will tell you that it’s best to pick and choose the activities that’ll suit your family. So to save you some research time, we’ve compiled a list of fun things to do in Bali perfect for all ages!
1. Waterbom Bali, Kuta
Giant swirly slides, water balloons, inflatable tubes and a whole lot of splash is what you’ll be getting at this theme park. Located in the heart of Kuta, the journey through the busy bustling town is worth it as once you arrive you’d be welcomed by friendly staff, a great choice of food and a fun environment for all ages. Though it may be a little bit pricey, reviewers at TripAdvisor agree that Waterbom is definitely worth the visit.
2. Monkey Forest, Ubud
If your family enjoys getting up close and personal with mammals, head on over to Monkey Forest. Tucked in the green hills of Padangtegalm Ubud is a jungle haven with ancient temples and a family of friendly macaques. Visitors will get to see over 600 macaques and feed them with bananas should they wish to purchase them – or better still bring your own! Though we would recommend to be careful of having food or beverages on hand as they’re quite prone to attempting to steal it. Cheeky monkeys!
3. Bali Safari Marine & Park, Gianyar
With a chance to get up close to over fifty different species of animals, this tourist attraction comes highly recommended by most visitors with families. From petting a lion’s cub to riding an elephant and even cuddling with an orangutan, your day at Bali Safari Marine & Park will be completely filled with activities and shows suited for all ages. Depending on your preference and budget, the park offers various packages that range between $39 to $85 per person. While this may seem a little steep compared to other tourist attractions in Bali, we’ve discovered that most reviewers say its an unforgettable experience for families.
4. Bali Bird Park, Gianyar
If birds of feather make your days feel better, then you definitely should visit Bali Bird Park. With over 1000 birds from 250 different species from across the world, there’s plenty of exciting activities to do in the park including having your photograph taken for free with a flock of exotic parrots on your arms and shoulders! And if birds aren’t really your thing, check out their Reptile section which houses Komodo Dragons, Crocodiles and Snakes! For only $31, TripAdvisor reviewers have said this place to be the number 1 tourist attraction up in Gianyar so all we can say is, why not give it a go?
5. Bali Treetop Adventure, Bedugul
Looking to break a little sweat? Spend your day high up in trees crossing suspended bridges, swinging like flying foxes, and climbing on spider nets at the Bali Treetop Adventure – all with a safety harness of course! With over seven adventure circuits available, the activities are not necessarily for the faint hearted or one who has a fear of heights. But if you’re up for the challenge, the staff are more than happy to guide you through each circuit which lasts between 30 minutes to an hour. Suitable for kids age 6 and onwards, be sure to book online as they provide a better discount for tickets!
